Erin Simao

Director, Referral Coordination

Erin joined Healthy Alliance because she has seen the impact social instability has on health outcomes and believes in the power of collaboration and authentic community engagement to transform this reality. She believes that health equity is possible and is passionate about being part of the change. Erin has dedicated her career to improving outcomes for the underserved. She is a fierce advocate for Community Health Workers, having built programs and initiatives around this staffing model. She has also served as an instructor for a local CHW certificate program. She was intimately involved in planning activities for Medicaid redesign efforts when the NYS DSRIP program began and joined Alliance for Better Health Care PPS as one of its first employees. Erin has worked in local public health, as well as in the non-profit space. She has spent time at a community hospital, community health center, and community-based organization. Her diverse experience provides a unique lens from which she approaches her work. Erin has a Master’s degree in public health with a concentration in epidemiology from the University at Albany (SUNY) and a Master’s degree in healthcare management from Clarkson University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and Labrador Retriever, Maggie.
